The Easy Life - In Fitness

The Easy Life
As a nineteen-year-old, I had no kids, house, relationship, or pets. One thing I did have was free time and lots of it. Fitness was so easy that I didn't even have to think about scheduling workouts. My lifestyle was filled with free time; I sometimes think back and laugh at just how much time I had.
I would stay up until two in the morning and wake up just before I had to leave for work. After work, I had hours to do anything I wanted and still had time for the gym, a thirty-minute run, and hours of entertainment. At this time, fitness was just a matter of motivation; my lifestyle didn't get in the way at all.
If you're in a similar situation, cherish the moment. The older you get, the more responsibilities will demand your time. Parents chasing their kids in a store once lived a life filled with free time too. This carefree lifestyle is temporary—take full advantage of it now.
This is the best time to push yourself in fitness. You can focus all your energy on one thing, achieving your fitness goals without impacting your lifestyle. If you ever feel bored, use that free time wisely—spend an hour or two working on yourself.
Even with abundant free time, I recommend reading this book and applying its strategies. You don’t have to implement everything daily, but at least one or two days a week will prepare you for the future when time is scarce. When real-life challenges arise, you will already have the discipline to maintain your fitness routine.
Struggle now, artificially, so that when real-life responsibilities consume your time, you won’t fall behind.
If free time is a luxury for you, the remaining chapters will help you carve out time for fitness. Looking back and thinking you can’t pursue your goals because life was once easier won’t help you. Fitness may be more challenging now, but that’s irrelevant. Adapt and move forward.
Your fitness journey doesn’t depend on your past—it depends on the actions you take today.
